Every year, in October, the world comes together to raise awareness on the impact of breast cancer. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an international campaign supported by medical organisations and charities globally.
We as a company support this cause annually and this October, we will be launching a dedicated design and mug for Breast Cancer Awareness. This mug honours those who are battling this disease and those who support the cause of prevention and early diagnosis.
Carrol's sketch aptly named 'strength' is an ode to this plight with a feminine figure draped in a vivid and flowing robe of pink and turquoise. The pink box is finished off with a breast cancer ribbon in the design of the flowing dress further supporting this good cause.
A design on a mug that makes a thoughtful gift for anyone wanting to raise awareness around self-examination and early diagnosis.
In the spirit of spreading awareness of this disease and how we can fight it together, we have created a self-examination infographic for your reference. Early detection can save lives! Regular medical screenings, awareness campaigns and self-examinations can lead to early diagnosis and improved treatment outcomes.
Let us fight this fight – together – one breast examination at a time.
Monthly Breast Self-Examination
1. DO A CHECK IN THE MIRROR
Stand in front of a mirror. With arms above your head then on your hips, check for changes in size, shape, texture, dimpling, puckering, enlarged or inverted nipples, swelling or redness.
2. RAISE YOUR ARMS
Raise each arm in turn and feel for lumps in and around your armpit.
3. LIE DOWN
Lie down, place a pillow under your left shoulder and put your left arm under your head. Use your fingers and different pressures to feel all over and around the left breast. Repeat the process for your right breast.
4. PALPATE
Palpate your nipples gently. Report any discharge, fluid or lumps to your healthcare provider.
5. SQUEEZE
Gently squeeze your nipples and feel around the areolas for lumps or unusual discharge.
